McCall is a small mountain town at the south end of Payette Lake. If you're making a weekend of it, here are a few ways to spend the time. Drive times are from Shore Lodge.

On the water

In the mountains

  • Brundage Mountain

    About 20 minutes

    In summer the ski resort runs a scenic chairlift, with hiking and mountain biking trails from the top. Check the lift schedule before you go.

  • Jug Mountain Ranch

    About 15 minutes

    More than 20 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails on a ranch south of town.

Hot springs

  • Gold Fork Hot Springs

    About 30 minutes

    Six terraced outdoor pools in the foothills near Donnelly, from about 85°F up to 110°F.

  • Burgdorf Hot Springs

    About an hour

    A rustic, remote hot spring in the forest north of town. Worth the drive if you have a free afternoon.
